Muay Thai History

Here at "AikiThai" dojo, we teach the arts of Muay Thai as well as Aikido.
Mr. Sosa has been involved in the arts since a very early childhood and has had the priviledge of training under many master instructors such as the late Shihan Bill Sosa, Rick Sosa and has earned the rank of Sandan-3rd Degree Black belt in the art of Aikido which he has been a practitioner for over 35 years. Mr. Sosa discovered the art of Muay Thai Boxing in the late 1980's and has been a pratitioner ever since and became one of grandmaster Surachai Sirisute's first certified Instructors in 1992 and has been helping spread the arts in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.Sosa believes in teaching the arts in a way that can be very practical and useful in every day living !
Showing the arts in such a way that one can also use thier training in their everyday routine and not just in the ring!
Students are also taught the arts for self defense as well as for ring sport.
Classes entail thai pad and focus mitt training and endurance drills as well as incorporating much grappling and working from the clinch and concepts of western boxing for a more complete and well rounded martial artist.
Mr. Sosa brings much experience to help students learn the art of Muay Thai.
Mr. Sosa has competed nationally and internationally and earned the welter weight  and middle weight  title in muay thai kickboxing in 93'.
 
Classes vary in age and are run as general classes for all levels .
